Valentino Rossi completed an enjoyable weekend on four wheels at Monza, where he competed in the opening round of the 2012 Blancpain Endurance Series.
Rossi, behind the steering wheel of a Ferrari 458 Italia, placed eighth in his category and 18th in the general classification, driving alongside his friend Uccio Salucci.
It was a familiar-sounding winning line-up who triumphed at the event, as Bas Leinders, Markus Palttala and Maxime Martin of the Marc VDS Racing Team – which runs Mika Kallio and Scott Redding in the Moto2™ World Championship – took the honours.
